Proludic launches 2012 digital fitness challenge

Supplier: Proludic Ltd

More Proludic Ltd details
Following on from the launch of the Sports Legacy Zone, outdoor playground equipment specialist Proludic is launching a new YouTube and Facebook campaign to help people keep fit this New Year.

The first campaign commences in January and February, traditionally the months when the nation aims to get back into shape.

Those taking part complete a simple fitness challenge and follow a three step process:

- watch Steve Backley's Challenge video where he challenges entrants to time themselves doing a 'plank'

- record themselves taking part in the challenge and upload it to YouTube

- submit a link to their video via the Sports Legacy Zone Facebook page (www.facebook.com/sportslegacyzone)

Further details are available at www.proludic.co.uk/socialfitness

The campaign aims to demonstrate the benefits of Proludic's virtual coach proposition to those who manage parks and outdoor play spaces.

Olympic medalists Steve Backley and Roger Black have devised an online training programme which is accessible via smartphones. The athletes provide users with exercise routines, challenges and group games to be carried out on a range of play equipment.

In this new campaign, however, anyone can take part, regardless of whether they have access to a Sports Legacy Zone or not, because the aim is to demonstrate the concept of virtual coaching to as wide an audience as possible.

Michael Hoenigmann, Proludic managing director said, "These new challenges are designed to showcase how our virtual coach works, regardless of whether you have access to one of our Sports Legacy Zones or not."

Proludic will be adding special QR codes on boards next to the outdoor equipment that they install. When scanned on a smartphone, these codes will download a virtual coaching video relevant to that equipment, showing how it can be used to build muscles, increase fitness or as an active game to play with friends or family.

The special equipment will start appearing in local parks from April 2012 as part of Sports Legacy Zones.

By the end of 2012 it is hoped that up to 30 Sports Legacy Zones will have been built across the UK. More information is available at www.proludic.co.uk/slz
