WOHA launches luxury lifestyle collection

Supplier: WOHA Architects

More WOHA Architects details
WOHAbeing is the brainchild of WOHA founders Richard Hassell and Wong Mun Summ
WOHA, the architecture and design firm behind the Park Royal hotel in Singapore and the luxurious Alila Villas Uluwatu resort in Bali, have launched WOHAbeing, a luxurious lifestyle line of their furniture, rugs, lighting, bath and tableware.

WOHABeing, which officially launched at the Maison&Objet show in Paris in September, is the brainchild of WOHA founders Richard Hassell and Wong Mun Summ. It consists of six collections: Bintan, Ulu, Corak, Oli, Diaspora, and Sampan.

Bintan is a furniture collection consisting of tables, chairs, and lighting. Inspired by the Indonesian island of the same name, it features tropical, hand-printed upholstery and is available with either slender metal bases or chunkier wooden legs.

Ulu features both indoor and outdoor furniture, originally designed for the Alila Villas Uluwatu resort in Bali; Corak is a collection of rugs incorporating traditional Asian patterns and textures; and Oli is a range of glassware and lighting that was created in collaboration with WonderGlass.

Diaspora, launching later this year, is a range of bone china tableware designed in collaboration with Singapore-based ceramic manufacturer, luzerna; and Sampan is a bathroom range that is designed to mimic the angular shape of traditional boats found in Singapore.

WOHA co-founder Richard Hassell says: "WOHAbeing is the result of over 20 years of designing buildings, and as a natural extension of that, furniture and other home accessories. We have created objects for our architectural projects for a very long time but never made them available for a retail market, so officially launching our six collections is new and exciting for us."

WOHA is focused on integrated design for the built environment, encompassing a continuum through master planning, architectural, landscape, interior and lighting to furniture design. WOHA's particular focus is on innovation towards better futures, rather than specific building types. WOHA has won international awards in diverse categories, including education, institutional, transport, residential, interiors, and hospitality.

WOHA has been involved in projects around the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Australia, and China.

The tropics are a unique climatic zone, where WOHA has particular expertise.
